C276 Introduction

Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The ickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.
Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability. HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance.

Forged threaded elbows are the core pipe fittings used in pipeline systems to change the direction of the pipeline. They are manufactured through forging technology and achieve pipeline redirection through a threaded connection method. They possess the characteristics of high strength, high sealing performance, and adaptability to complex working conditions. Basic definition: It is a type of forged pipe fitting. It is formed through hot forging or cold forging processes.

Both ends or one end is provided with threads (such as NPT, BSPT, BSPP, etc. standards) for connecting to the pipeline. It can achieve sealing without welding, and is suitable for scenarios with requirements for fire prevention, explosion protection, and high-altitude operations. 。 Angle classification: Commonly available in 45° and 90° specifications. Customization for non-standard angles such as 60° is also possible according to engineering requirements. 。 Material classification: The mainstream materials include stainless steel (such as 201, 304, 316, etc., with strong corrosion resistance), carbon steel (high strength, suitable for general working conditions), and alloy steel (able to withstand high temperatures and pressures, used in special industrial scenarios) 。 Pressure rating: Covers multiple pressure levels from low pressure (150 PSI) to ultra-high pressure (2000 LB and above), suitable for various pressure-demanding pipeline systems.

1. Forging Process: Core Plastic Deformation Technology

Utilize hot forging (heating at 1000-1300°C, suitable for large sizes and high pressure ratings, preventing cracking) or cold forging (forging at room temperature, with an accuracy of ±0.05mm, thread reaching 6H grade, suitable for small sizes and high precision requirements). Through a press or forging hammer, the metal is densified to enhance its pressure resistance. Innovative techniques such as eccentric forging can balance the wall thickness of the inner and outer rings of large-diameter bends, avoiding pressure-bearing risks. 

 2. Heat Treatment for Strengthening: Key to Performance Enhancement

Annealing: Heat at 650-1150°C and then cool slowly to eliminate internal stress and enhance corrosion resistance (for stainless steel, it can withstand salt spray for over 5000 hours); Normalizing: Heat at 900-1000°C and cool naturally to refine grains and enhance tensile strength (for carbon steel, it can reach 520 MPa+); Quenching + Tempering: Special for alloy steel, to enhance hardness and wear resistance, suitable for extreme working conditions such as oil, high-pressure gas, etc.

3. Precision Machining and Surface Treatment

Thread Machining: Machining by CNC lathe, with thread accuracy of 5g/6g level, compatible with NPT/BSPT/GB standards. High-end products adopt sealing surface reinforcement to withstand CL9000-level ultra-high pressure; Surface Treatment: For stainless steel, it is passivated (forming an oxide chromium film, resistant to strong corrosion); for carbon steel, it is galvanized/nickel-plated (prevents oxidation and enhances wear resistance); sandblasting for rust removal (provides a clean base for coating).

4. Full Process Quality Control

From the detection of raw material composition/mechanical properties, to the monitoring of key indicators in the forging, heat treatment, and processing stages (wall thickness, thread accuracy, etc.), to the hydraulic test of the finished product (holding pressure at 1.5 times the working pressure for 30 minutes), non-destructive testing (ultrasonic/magnetic particle detection for internal defects), and size accuracy testing, to ensure zero-defect delivery of the product. This process increases the tensile strength of the elbow by 20% - 30% compared to the castings, and its pressure resistance reaches levels of CL3000 - CL9000. The threaded connection has no welding risks and is suitable for complex scenarios such as fire prevention, explosion prevention, and high-altitude operations.
