UNS N06600 DIN2.4816 Alloy 600 Nickel alloy Introduction
UNS N06600 DIN2.4816 Alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium solid solution strengthened nickel-based alloy with superior high-temperature oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and structural stability compared to austenitic stainless steels 304, 316, 316L, and 321. Its excellent high-temperature durability, water corrosion resistance, and good long-term structural stability make it suitable for use in petrochemical components, heat exchanger components, and nuclear industry structural components.
Machining
The machining properties of UNS N06600 DIN2.4816 Alloy 600 are similar to other nickel-based alloys; however, due to its high work hardening rate and high toughness, lower machining speeds, higher power, and higher rigidity are required. Coated carbide cutting tools are recommended.
Forming
The nickel-based alloy UNS N06600 DIN2.4816 Alloy 600 can be formed using the same methods as other nickel-based alloys. Forming and forging of this alloy require higher power. Forging temperature range: 871-1093°C (1600-2000°F).
Welding
Nickel-based alloy UNS N06600 DIN2.4816 Alloy 600 can be welded using conventional welding processes. UNS N06082 (AWS ERNiCr-3) is recommended as the welding wire.
Exercise caution should be exercised when using self-fluxing, high-power-density welding processes (such as electron beam welding or laser welding), as excessive grain coarsening and intergranular embrittlement may occur.
Heat Treatment
Final annealing is suitable for a variety of applications, with an annealing temperature of 1093°C (2000°F) followed by air
cooling. If this material is intended for use in harsh high-temperature oxidizing environments, annealing should be performed at 1149°C (2100°F). This alloy cannot be hardened by heat treatment.

Flange-fitting short sections are core connectors for clean fluid transport pipelines in the food, pharmaceutical, and bioengineering industries. This component mainly consists of a circular end with a chuck flange and a smooth cylindrical section. The cylindrical section is welded for fixation, while the chuck end allows for tool-free quick assembly and disassembly using matching clamps and food-grade sealing gaskets. The main body is typically made of 304 or 316L stainless steel, with a high-precision polished inner wall resulting in extremely low surface roughness. The overall design eliminates any unsanitary dead corners, effectively preventing media residue and adapting to CIP (clean-in-place) and SIP (sterilization-in-place) process requirements. It also possesses excellent acid and alkali resistance, high-temperature resistance, and reliable sealing properties, making it widely used in fluid transport scenarios with stringent hygiene requirements, such as those in the dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and fine chemical industries.

Lap Joint Stub End Produce Processing
1.Raw Material Selection and Pre-treatment: 304/316L stainless steel bars/tubes conforming to ASTM standards are selected. Upon arrival at the factory, spectral composition and mechanical property tests are conducted to ensure material compliance. Subsequently, surface oxide scale and impurities are removed through sandblasting and pickling, completing the raw material pre-treatment.2.Precision Blanking and Forming: According to product specifications, the raw material is precisely blanked using a CNC sawing machine, and then hot forging, cold heading, or spinning processes are used to integrally form a joint blank with a chuck flange, ensuring structural strength and dimensional accuracy, and avoiding hygiene hazards caused by weld gaps.3.Machining and Finishing: Precision machining of the inner hole, outer diameter, and chuck end face is performed using CNC lathes and milling machines, strictly controlling dimensional tolerances and coaxiality. Simultaneously, chamfering is performed at the joints to eliminate burrs, preparing for subsequent polishing processes.4.High-precision polishing of inner and outer walls: First, rough polishing and semi-fine polishing remove machining marks, followed by mirror polishing to control the surface roughness of the inner wall to Ra≤0.4μm (Ra≤0.2μm for pharmaceutical grade), ensuring no unsanitary corners and no media residue, meeting clean transport requirements.5.Passivation and surface treatment: The polished joint is immersed in a special passivation solution to form a dense oxide protective film on the surface, significantly improving the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel. Degreasing and cleaning are then performed to remove surface oil and chemical residues.6.Non-destructive testing and quality control: Sealing performance is tested using water pressure/air pressure testing. Eddy current testing and penetrant testing are used to check for internal cracks and defects. Simultaneously, dimensions, roughness, and material are fully re-inspected to ensure the product meets industry standards such as 3A and GMP.7.Clean packaging and shipping: Final cleaning and drying are completed in a cleanroom. Food-grade dust-free packaging is used for sealing to avoid secondary contamination. Material certificates and test reports are included before shipping.
